Throughout its history, Italy has witnessed, produced, and been the product of, some of the most significant political, cultural, and artistic movements that have shaped our modern world. Physical evidence of the past remains, here in Italy, both as testimony to the former ages and as study aid for the modern student.

St Stephen’s Summer Programs focus on exposing students to the arts and culture of Italy's most pivotal eras and movements, with courses that span history and take fullest advantage of the program's location and the resources available outside its front doors.

All courses include special access to sites and projects of all historical periods that are normally closed to the general public. Rome is your classroom, in these tailored and unique programs!

High school and rising 8th and 9th grade students from around the world are invited to participate in one of the two summer programs at St. Stephen’s School in Rome. The programs are open to boarding and day students, and entire families are welcome to share the experience.

Summer 2010 Dates and Program Fees

Arts & Humanities Summer Program I: July 4 – 17

Boarding Students: 2,750 Euro, payable to St. Stephen's School - Rome

Day Students: 1,750 Euro, payable to St. Stephen's School - Rome


Brown University-St. Stephen’s School Pre-College Summer Program:
July 18 – August 7

Boarding Students: $7,110, payable to Brown University

Day Students: 3,060 Euro, payable to St. Stephen's School - Rome


A 500 Euro deposit is required and may be sent separately from this application form to the school (Attention: Summer Programs).

Applicants must also supply an official school transcript, which should be sent directly to St. Stephen's School (Attention: Summer Programs). Applications to the summer programs will not be complete without the deposit and school transcript.

All fees sent to St. Stephen’s School may be paid by check in Euro or in U.S. dollar on the euro exchange rate of the day. Payments from the U.S. can be made most easily by a dollar check on the Euro exchange of the day, or by wire transfer. Payments in Euro must be made by check or wire transfer. Be sure to state "Summer Programs" and the name of the applicant, on the check or wire transfer. Students not accepted into the program will receive a full refund.
