Study and live in Rome, this summer!

Welcome to the Summer Programs at St Stephen’s School in Rome! Every summer students from around the world come together to take advantage of the unique mix of high academic standards and the unique site of this historic school in Rome, in order to explore their own talents and curiosities, and the marvelous city itself.

Throughout its history, Rome has witnessed, produced, and been the product of, some of the most significant political, cultural, and artistic movements that have shaped our modern world. Physical evidence of the past remains, here in Rome, both as testimony to the former ages and as study aid for the modern student.

The St. Stephen’s School Summer Programs focus on exposing students to the arts and culture of Italy's most pivotal eras and movements, with courses that span history and take fullest advantage of the program's location and the resources available outside its front doors. All courses include special access to sites and projects of all historical periods that are normally closed to the general public. Rome is your classroom, in these tailored and unique programs!

Summer 2010 ushers in our new partnership with Brown University's pre-college program! Students over the age of 16 are invited to attend this summer program, which will be taught by a combination of instructors from both Brown University and St. Stephen's School. Students ages 13 - 16 are invited to attend our other program, the Arts & Humanities Summer Program, which is taught by the distinguished faculty of the St. Stephen's School.

The Summer Programs at St. Stephen's School are English-speaking, and are open to all high school students as well as rising 8th and 9th graders. The Summer Programs offer boarding opportunities for students from around the world, and day school for students who live in the greater Rome area.

St. Stephen’s is an independent high school located in Rome, Italy. Dedicated to academic excellence and the development of the individual, the school's rich tradition of providing superior education in a small setting has earned it a prestigious position in the international academic community since 1964.
